Trevor Shaddox

In 2005, Trevor was admitted to Stanford University, where he pursued a major in Mathematical and Computational Science. He graduated in 2009 with distinction and continued at the Stanford University School of Medicine for an additional year to complete a Masters of Science degree in Biomedical Informatics, where his research focused on using computational tools to study disease processes, specifically examining diseases associated with accelerated aging. Trevor joined the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA in 2010. As an MD/PhD student in the Medical Scientist Training Program, he has finished the first two years of medical school and is now pursuing his PhD training in the field of Biomathematics.
His research interests include Bayesian statistics, high-dimensional optimization, and high performance computation. Advised by Marc Suchard, Trevor has worked on OHDSI projects ranging from hierarchical outcome modeling to MCMC methods to parallel computing in optimization. After completing his PhD, Trevor will return to medical school to finish his MD, and he looks forward to a career where he can continue to synthesize mathematics and medicine. In his spare time, he enjoys sailing, running, and tennis.
